Where there's a Will

Dear Diary,
It is the 28th of January 2013, and I have been in the hall doing some acting with class 8! I and class 8 were looking at how “Midsummer Night's dream” was acted out.
The play was written in around 1650 by William Shakespeare! The speech in which Shakespeare announced was:
'Ay me, for aught that I could ever read,
Could ever here by tale or history,
The course of true love never did run smooth.'

The main story line is Helena loved Demetrius but Demetrius doesn’t love Helena! Hermia loves Lysander, but Hermia’s dad wants Hermia to marry Demetrius. Then Puck, a mischievous fairy makes Lysander love Helena, so Helena has two boyfriends now. Then Puck makes Lysander love Hermia again!  It is all very confusing for my little brain but I am sure that I will understand it by the end.

I have really enjoyed this acting and hope that I get a chance to go in tomorrow!

Pinchy is travelling!

So Pinchy is now on his way to the USA and he has left me (Prof Bear) to look after the blog until Ember appears from the USA.

I helped wrap Pinchy up carefully and trotted off to the post office with Mr Down. All I can say is that I am glad I am staying with Class 8 as it all looked very scary to me.

The children are having a fun week this week at school - they have a drama group in called Where there's a Will. They will be acting out A Midsummer Night's Dream throughout the week and then perform it to KS1 on Friday. I have listened to Mrs Down read the story version to the class so am very excited!

Prof Bear.

PS I am the class bear that spends lots of his time in the tent in the reading corner. I have also recently been to Antarctica to study penguins to help the children write non-chronological reports.

Ready to go!

This week has been an exciting one...perhaps a little too exciting considering I am a lazy Spider Monkey. The children took me around the school - getting me to use the photo copier, play the drums and then help them with their work!!! I did get a chance to sleep in the tent in the reading corner in the evening. (thankfully)
I am now ready for my adventures in the USA (and that long sleep on the plane). I have my tie on...so that I look smart like all the children at Pinchbeck East...and two comfy bags and a little treat! I will miss my friends in Pinchbeck but look forward to meeting my new ones.
Bye from Pinchy ...hopefully next week I will be updating my American blog!!!

Snow adventures!

Yesterday I eventually awoke from my long sleep after my day in London. I wasn't too impressed to be told that I was going outside in the snow - I like hot weather!

I could not understand why Oliver and Henry were so excited....I just felt cold! Anyway thankfully they decided that it was too cold for me...after making me play on their sledge and sit in a tree - and they allowed me back in the house to sleep in the lounge. I do love sleeping!
On the freezing cold tree!

On the sledge with Henry.

London

Pinchy heads to London

Yesterday I had a very exciting trip to London with Mrs Down and Miss Thompson from class 7. We got up quite early and set off through the snow on a long train journey. When we were there we saw a lot of famous parts of the city like Big Ben and Trafalgar Square. As you can see from the photographs it was a tiring day (and I am a lazy monkey) so I did have a few naps.

Me with my train ticket
Having a rest on the train
With Mrs Down in Leicester Square in London
Phew all of that travelling around was tiring, I thought I would have a lie down overlooking Trafalgar Square
I went to a lecture with Mrs Down (monkeys find lectures a bit dull)
I did find quite a nice bag to have a nap in though
When we got to Kings Cross train station to head home I couldn't resist heading to platform 9 3/4 to see if I could see Harry Potter and look what I found!
A photo for Mrs Hummel who loves the Harry Potter books
When we got back to the station near Mrs Down's house we met up with her family and had dinner at a very snowy Pizza Hut.
Yummy I discovered that Monkeys love diet soda and pizza too

Hello

Hello my name is Pinchy and I am a lazy spider monkey from Ecuador.
A few years ago I was a bit worn out after climbing trees to get some bananas when I noticed that some kind men had already picked a massive pile of my favourite fruit and were loading it into a huge metal box.

Being a lazy monkey I thought it would be quite nice to go and get some of the bananas from the box rather than by the rather exhausting method I was using now of climbing a tree.

Unfortunately when I got into the huge box nobody noticed and they shut the door behind me.
At first I was quite scared but then I realised I was locked in a box with bananas.....in fact lots of bananas.....in fact a HUGE pile of bananas.

I don't know how long I was in my box but I do know that it travelled all the way from Ecuador to a place called Spalding in England. My giant box contained 10,387 bananas and I was just about to eat banana 10,387 when my box was opened.
Now by this time having eaten 10,386.5 bananas I was a HUGE spider monkey and the people who opened the big metal box didn't seem very happy about that so I decided it would be a good idea if I ran (waddled) away.

Being a HUGE monkey meant I couldn't get very far and I could only run (waddle)  as far as Pinchbeck a village just outside of Spalding. I have been living here for a while now at Pinchbeck East Primary School with class 8, but I think it is time for another adventure so I am swapping places with my friend who lives in Pennsylvania in America at Linntown Intermediate School in Lewisburg. He will look after my blog while I am away and I will do his at http://travelbuddyadventures.blogspot.com/   however I AM a lazy monkey so the children over there are going to help me!
I hope you follow my adventures.
